Verena von Koskull (born 1970) studied Italian and English for translators as well as art history in Berlin and Bologna. After working for the Italian publisher Fazi Editore in Rome and the Alexander Fest Verlag in Berlin, she worked as a freelance literary translator from 2002 onward. She translated from Italian and English. In 2020, she received the German-Italian Translator’s Prize for her translation of Edoardo Albinati’s novel “The Catholic School.” In 1999, she held a fellowship at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin’s translators’ workshop. Alongside her translation work, she also worked as a chef in a Berlin restaurant until 2019.
