Uwe Wirth (born 1963) is a German scholar of literature and cultural studies. He studied German, philosophy and history in Heidelberg, Frankfurt am Main and Berkeley. Since 2007, he has been Professor of Modern German Literature and Cultural Studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen. His research focuses include cultural, semiotic and media theory, as well as German literature around 1800.
