Ulrike Fuchs, born in Schleswig-Holstein in 1967, studied Old German literature and history in Berlin and Kiel. After completing a traineeship as a television editor in Hamburg, she worked as a screenwriter and copywriter. As an author, she also published works of fiction under the pseudonym Laura Bastian and worked as a translator.
