Born in 1956, Thomas Palzer studied philosophy and modern German literature in Munich and Vienna. He published several books, including the novel *Ruin*, which received the Tukan Prize of the City of Munich in 2005. He also wrote journalistic and essayistic works for radio and television. Palzer worked as a writer and film director.
