Thomas Hauschild

Thomas Hauschild (born 1955) studied ethnology, folklore, and religious studies in Hamburg. From 1982 to 2001, he conducted research for his book “Magie und Macht in Italien” (2002). He taught ethnology at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and worked at numerous universities in Germany and abroad, as well as at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin. He held visiting professorships in Rome, Naples, New York, and Aix-en-Provence. His other publications include “Ritual und Gewalt” (2008).
