Svealena Kutschke (born 1977 in Lübeck) is a writer and theatre author. She studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice in Hildesheim. In 2008, she received the Open Mike award from the Berliner Literaturwerkstatt. Her debut novel, “Etwas Kleines gut versiegeln,” was published in 2009, followed by “Gefährliche Arten” in 2013. Her later novels include “Gewittertiere.” Kutschke received, among other distinctions, the Advancement Award of the Schiller Memorial Prize in 2019 and the Hebbel Prize in 2022. Her play “No Shame in Hope (eine Jogginghose ist ja kein Schicksal)” was nominated for the Author’s Prize of the Heidelberg Stückemarkt in 2023.
