Susanne Lange

Susanne Lange, born in Berlin in 1964, is a scholar of literature with a doctorate and a translator from Spanish. She has translated works by, among others, Miguel de Cervantes, Fernando del Paso, Federico García Lorca, Octavio Paz, Carmen Laforet, Juan Rulfo, and Javier Marías into German. Her awards include the Zuger Translation Fellowship and the Hieronymus Ring; in 2009 she received the Johann-Heinrich-Voß Prize, awarded for her new translation of *Don Quixote*. In 2010–2011, she was August Wilhelm von Schlegel Visiting Professor of Translation Poetics at Freie Universität Berlin.
