Reinhard Loske

Reinhard Loske was born in 1959 in Lippstadt, Germany. He worked at the Institute for Ecological Economic Research and at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, where he was part of the “Sustainable Germany” research group from 1992 to 1998. From 1998 to 2007, he served as a member of the German Bundestag for Alliance 90/The Greens, including as environmental policy spokesperson and deputy parliamentary group leader. From 2007 to 2011, he was Senator for the Environment, Construction, Transport and Europe of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. He later held a professorship in politics, sustainability and transformation dynamics at Witten/Herdecke University. His publications and lectures focus particularly on climate protection, nature conservation, global justice and questions of economic growth.
