Quint Buchholz, born in Stolberg in 1957, initially studied art history before studying painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. His career as a painter, illustrator and author for German and international publishers began in 1979; from 1988 onward, he also illustrated children’s and young adult books. His notable works include the picture book “Sleep Well, Little Bear” (1993) and “The Collector of Moments” (1997). The latter received numerous national and international awards and was included in *The New York Times Book Review*’s list of the ten best books of the year. Buchholz has illustrated more than 40 books, including works by Elke Heidenreich, Jostein Gaarder and Amos Oz.
