Pierre Klossowski

Pierre Klossowski (1905–2001) was a French writer, translator, and painter. He wrote essays on figures including the Marquis de Sade and Friedrich Nietzsche, as well as five works of fiction. He also translated works from German and Latin into French, contributed to several films, and illustrated scenes from his own writings. In the 1930s, he was involved with Georges Bataille’s magazine Acéphale.
