Theodor W. Adorno

Theodor W. Adorno (1903–1969) was a German philosopher, sociologist, and musicologist and is regarded as one of the leading representatives of the Frankfurt School. He studied philosophy, sociology, psychology, and musicology in Frankfurt and received his doctorate in 1924 with a thesis on Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology. Adorno was closely associated with Max Horkheimer and Walter Benjamin. He died during a holiday stay in Visp, in the Swiss canton of Valais.
