Oliver Kahn, born in Karlsruhe in 1969, is a former German football goalkeeper. He began his career with Karlsruher SC in 1975 and made his Bundesliga debut there in 1987. His father, Rolf, and brother, Axel, also played professionally for the club. Kahn joined FC Bayern Munich in 1994 and ended his 22-year professional career in 2008. With Bayern, he won seven German championships, six DFB-Pokal titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2001. Kahn made 86 appearances for Germany and was named World Goalkeeper of the Year three times. At the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, he was awarded both the tournament’s best goalkeeper and best player titles.
