Olaf Zimmermann

Olaf Zimmermann, born in 1961, completed a second-chance education and subsequently trained as an art dealer. He then worked as an art dealer and managing director of various galleries. In 1987, he founded a gallery for contemporary art in Cologne and Mönchengladbach. In March 1997, he became managing director of the German Cultural Council. Zimmermann is a publisher and writer, and the founder and editor of the newspaper Politik & Kultur. In 2020, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
