Gabriele Schulz

Gabriele Schulz, née Ziegler, was born in Kassel in 1965. She grew up in divided Germany and, as a child and teenager, traveled several times a year to visit her grandparents in Thuringia. Her experiences crossing the inner-German border became the basis for her story and screenplay Grenzliebe. In 2007, the screenplay won first prize in the Kassel Screenplay Award. A short story by Schulz was published by Wolkenreiter Verlag in 2008.
