Miriam Davoudvandi was born in Bucharest in 1992 to a Romanian mother and an Iranian father and grew up in a small town in southern Germany. She is a freelance journalist, presenter and author. She began her journalistic career writing about rap and later became editor-in-chief of the hip-hop magazine splash! Mag. She has received several awards, including Music Journalist of the Year at the International Music Journalism Award and a place among the Medium Magazin’s “Top 30 under 30” journalists. Davoudvandi was the host of the WDR podcast “Danke, gut,” which focused on mental health. Her writing on pop culture, politics and mental health has appeared in publications including Der Spiegel and Die Zeit. She has also written for the stage, including “It’s Britney, Bitch!” for the Berliner Ensemble, and contributed “Unlearn Mental Health” to the anthology “Unlearn Patriarchy II.” As a DJ, she performed under the name Cashmiri.
