Marjolein Bastin

Marjolein Bastin (born 1943 in Loenen, the Netherlands) is a Dutch illustrator. She developed a strong passion for nature as a child. After five years of study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem, she worked for advertising agencies and publishers, including the magazine Libelle, where she created a nature-themed feature for more than 30 years. Her drawings of plants and animals from Europe, North America and the Caribbean were discovered by the American stationery industry in 1990 and subsequently appeared internationally on cards, calendars and other products.
