Juri Andruchowytsch

Juri Andruchovych, born in 1960 in Ivano-Frankivsk in western Ukraine, is a Ukrainian writer. He studied journalism and began his literary career as a poet. In addition to poetry and song lyrics, he has written essays and novels. In 1985, he co-founded the literary performance group Bu-Ba-Bu (Burlesk-Balagan-Buffonada). His best-known novels include “Rekreacij” (1992), “Moscoviada” (1993), and “Perverzija” (1999). His work has been translated into numerous languages. In 2022, he received the Heinrich Heine Prize.
