Jess Jochimsen, born in Munich in 1970, studied German, political science and philosophy. He works as an author and cabaret artist and has performed on German-speaking stages since 1992. His publications include his debut, “Das Dosenmilch-Trauma” (2000), the story collections “Flaschendrehen” and “Krieg ich schulfrei, wenn du stirbst?”, the illustrated book “DanebenLeben”, the monologue “Was sollen die Leute denken”, and the novels “Bellboy” and “Abschlussball”. “Bellboy” inspired Christian Lerch’s feature film “Was weg is, is weg”. Jochimsen has received, among other honors, the German Cabaret Prize, the Prix Pantheon, the Passauer Scharfrichterbeil and the Baden-Württemberg Arts Prize for Cabaret (2011).
