Horst Tappert

Horst Tappert (1923–2008) was a German actor. He began his career in theater and performed at the Munich Kammerspiele from 1956. From the late 1950s onward, he appeared in film and television productions, including Edgar Wallace adaptations and the 1966 miniseries “Die Gentlemen Bitte Zur Kasse.” He became best known as Chief Inspector Stephan Derrick in the television crime series “Derrick,” which began airing in 1974 and was produced with him through 1998. Tappert appeared in around 300 episodes of the series.
