Holger Fock

Holger Fock, born in Ludwigsburg in 1958, studied theatre studies, German and philosophy. After completing a doctorate on Antonin Artaud and working for four years as a copywriter and consultant in advertising agencies, he became a literary translator. He translated primarily French fiction and nonfiction, including works by André Breton, Pierre Michon, Pierre Guyotat, Cécile Wajsbrot and Antoine Volodine; many of his translations were produced jointly with Sabine Müller. In 2011, Fock and Müller received the Eugen Helmlé Translator’s Prize; in 2023 they received the International Literature Prize of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt and the Paul Celan Prize.
