Lyndal Roper

Lyndal Roper, born in Melbourne in 1956, studied in part at the University of Tübingen and taught history as Regius Professor of History at the University of Oxford. Her work focuses on the Reformation and early modern Germany, including witch persecutions, the history of the body and psyche, and Martin Luther. Her works published in German include »Ödipus und der Teufel. Körper und Psyche in der frühen Neuzeit« (1995), »Hexenwahn. Geschichte einer Verfolgung« (2007), and »Der feiste Doktor. Luther, sein Körper und seine Biographen« (2012). She received the Gerda Henkel Prize in 2016.
