Philippe Grimbert, born in Paris in 1948, is a French writer and psychoanalyst. He studied psychology before turning to psychoanalysis in the tradition of Jacques Lacan. In Paris, he established a private practice specializing in adolescent psychiatry and also worked in medico-educational institutions with autistic and psychotic adolescents. In addition to essays, he has published several novels since 2001. His autobiographically inspired novel “Un secret” (2004), about a long-concealed family secret connected to the persecution of Jews, received numerous awards, sold more than 1.5 million copies internationally, and was adapted into a film in 2007.
