Harald Lesch

Harald Lesch (born 1960 in Giessen) is a German astrophysicist, natural philosopher, and science communicator. He studied physics and philosophy in Giessen and Bonn, earned his doctorate in 1987, and completed his habilitation in 1994. After working at the Heidelberg State Observatory and the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy, he also worked at the University of Toronto. From 1995 onward, he taught theoretical astrophysics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and natural philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy. He became widely known through the television program “alpha-Centauri” and later presented programs including “Leschs Kosmos” and “Terra X.” Lesch has published numerous popular science books, including “Was hat das Universum mit mir zu tun?”, “Wenn nicht jetzt, wann dann?” and “Denkt mit!”.
