Maik Hosang

Maik Hosang (born 1961 in Bautzen) studied philosophy, psychology and anthropology at Humboldt University of Berlin, where he earned his doctorate in 1990. He completed a habilitation in socioeconomics. In 2000, he founded the Free Institute for Cultural and Social Ecology in Pommritz and co-founded the socio-ecological model project LebensGut Pommritz. In 2012, he took up a professorship in cultural philosophy and transformation research at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, where he also headed the degree program in Culture and Management. His research has addressed philosophical anthropology, evolutionary and complexity theory, social ecology, and the connections between ecology, ethics, freedom and sustainability. Hosang is the author of numerous books.
