Friedbert Stohner

Born in 1951, Friedbert Stohner studied philosophy and initially pursued an academic career. He later held senior positions at several children’s and young adult publishers and helped establish Hanser Verlag’s children’s list from 1993 onward. Alongside his publishing work, he translated from Finnish and English, often together with his wife, Anu Stohner. As an author, he published children’s books including the series titles Ich bin hier bloß der Hamster (2014), Ich bin hier bloß das Pony (2015), Ich bin hier bloß das Schaf (2018), Ich bin hier bloß der Opa (2020), and Ich bin hier bloß der Teddy (2021).
