Elisabeth Sandmann

Elisabeth Sandmann trained as a bookseller and studied art history and comparative literature in Bonn and Oxford. She earned a doctorate with a dissertation on George Bernard Shaw. After working at Suhrkamp Verlag, DuMont, Nicolai Verlag and Knesebeck Verlag, she founded Elisabeth Sandmann Verlag in 2004. As a publisher, she focused in part on restitution and the biographies of extraordinary women. In 2015, she published the nonfiction book »Der gestohlene Klimt«, which deals with a significant restitution case.
