Dita Zipfel

Born in 1981, Dita Zipfel is an author of children’s and young adult books, picture books, plays, screenplays, and essays. Before becoming an author, she worked, among other things, as a sales assistant, in agriculture, and as a teacher in North Frisia. Her highly acclaimed young adult debut, *Wie der Wahnsinn mir die Welt erklärte*, was published in 2019. It received, among other honors, the German Children’s and Young Adult Literature Prize, the Korbinian–Paul Maar Prize, the Kranichstein Young Adult Literature Fellowship, and the Hamburg Literature Advancement Award. Her other books include *Brummps* (2022) and *Leben, Sterben und Kaninchen* (2025).
