Ran Flygenring

Rán Flygenring was born in Norway in 1987 and grew up in Iceland. She studied in Reykjavík, Oslo and Berlin and graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts. As an illustrator, she worked on Finn-Ole Heinrich’s “Frerk, du Zwerg!” and the Maulina Schmitt series, among other books. In 2019, Dita Zipfel’s young-adult novel “Wie der Wahnsinn mir die Welt erklärte,” illustrated by Flygenring, was published. Her work has received, among other honors, the Luchs award from Radio Bremen and DIE ZEIT and the German Youth Literature Prize.
