Christina Pareigis

Christina Pareigis (born 1970) is a German scholar of literature and cultural studies. She worked as a secondary-school teacher in Hamburg and previously as a research associate at the Leibniz Centre for Literature and Cultural Research in Berlin. Her research focuses include European Jewish literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, Yiddish literature, and literature of the Shoah. In 2004, she received the Joseph Carlebach Prize. Among other publications, she edited several volumes of the writings of Susan Taubes and the volume “trogt zikh a gezang …,” on Yiddish song lyrics from 1939 to 1945.
