Carmen Maja Antoni

Carmen-Maja Antoni (born in Berlin in 1945) is a German actress and radio-play narrator. After studying acting in Potsdam, she worked at the Hans Otto Theatre in Potsdam and at the Berliner Volksbühne before joining the Berliner Ensemble in 1976. There she performed, among other roles, the title character in Bertolt Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children.” Antoni appeared in numerous film, television and radio productions, including “Der Laden,” “Rosa Roth” and “The Kangaroo Chronicles.” She also taught at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. She began working in television at the age of eleven.
