Brigitte Mazohl is an Austrian historian. She studied history and journalism at the University of Salzburg and law at the University of Vienna, where she received her doctorate in 1971. After research and teaching positions in Mainz, Salzburg, Trento, Innsbruck, and Klagenfurt, she completed her habilitation in 1986. From 1993 to 2015, she was Professor of Austrian History at the University of Innsbruck. From 2013 to 2017, she served as president of the Philosophical-Historical Class of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and subsequently remained a full member of the academy. Her research focused on Austrian, German, and Italian history from the eighteenth century to the First World War.
