Bibiana Beglau

Bibiana Beglau (born 1971 in Braunschweig, Germany) is a German actress. She trained at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. For her leading role in Volker Schlöndorff’s film *The Silence After the Shot* (2000), she received the Silver Bear for Best Actress. Her other distinctions include the Grimme Award, being named “Actress of the Year” by the magazine *Theater heute* in 2014, and the German Audiobook Award for Best Performer in 2017. She joined the ensemble of Vienna’s Burgtheater in 2019. As an audiobook and radio-play narrator, she has appeared, among other productions, in an adaptation of Emily Brontë’s *Wuthering Heights*.
