Bernd Ritschel (born 1963 in Wolfratshausen, Upper Bavaria) is a German mountain photographer and author. Over several decades, his photographic work focused on the world’s mountain ranges. He published more than 30 illustrated books as well as textbooks and calendars; his photographs appeared in publications including National Geographic, GEO and Stern and were exhibited across Europe. His notable books include “Wilde Alpen,” “Hütten – Sehnsuchtsorte in den Alpen,” “Dark Mountains” and “Alpengletscher. Eine Hommage.” Ritschel also gave lectures and photography workshops.
