Ari Folman

Ari Folman (born 1962 in Haifa) is an Israeli film director, screenwriter and film producer. As a soldier, he took part in the First Lebanon War in 1982. He processed the partly autobiographical memories associated with the experience in the animated documentary film »Waltz with Bashir« (2008), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and received the European Film Award and the César. In 2017, Folman published a graphic diary based on Anne Frank’s diary.
