Anne Frank

Anne Frank (1929–1945) was a Jewish writer and diarist born in Frankfurt am Main. In 1933, she fled with her family to the Netherlands. During the German occupation, she went into hiding in Amsterdam in July 1942 with her family and four other persecuted people. While in hiding, she kept a diary describing her daily life, thoughts, and fears. After the hiding place was discovered, Anne Frank was deported and died in 1945 at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Her diary was first published in 1947 and became one of the best-known testimonies of the Nazi era.
