Ulrich Pleitgen

Ulrich Pleitgen (1946–2018) was a German actor and narrator. After training at the State University of Music and Theatre in Hanover, he performed at venues including Berlin’s Schillertheater, theatres in Basel, Frankfurt and Bochum, the State Theatre in Stuttgart, and Hamburg’s Thalia Theater. From the late 1980s onward, he worked primarily in film and television, appearing in series such as “Tatort,” “Das Traumschiff,” and “Nicht von schlechten Eltern.” He also narrated numerous audiobooks. His work earned him, among other honors, the Bambi, the German Audiobook Award, and the German Record Critics’ Award.
