Terence Hanbury White

Terence Hanbury White was born in Bombay, India, in 1906. From 1930 to 1936, he worked as an English teacher at a state school while also writing. He became best known for his four-volume series of novels about the Arthurian legend, published in German as “Der König auf Camelot.” The first volume was adapted by Walt Disney in 1963 as “The Sword in the Stone.” White died of a heart attack in 1964 while travelling by ship at sea near Athens.
