Helen Macdonald is a writer, poet, illustrator and historian of science. She worked at the University of Cambridge in the history and philosophy of science and previously worked, among other things, as a professional falconer; she also bred hunting falcons for Arab royal families. Her book “H Is for Hawk” became an international bestseller and received the Samuel Johnson Prize and the Costa Book of the Year award. Her other works include “Shaler’s Fish,” “Falcon,” “Vesper Flights” and the novel “Prophet,” co-written with Sin Blaché.
