Sunzi

Sunzi (c. 500 BC) was a Chinese philosopher, general, and military strategist. According to tradition, Helü, king of Wu, appointed him supreme commander of his armies. Sunzi wrote *The Art of War*, one of the earliest known written treatises on strategy and warfare. The work remains his best-known contribution to military theory.
