Stephan Schad

Stephan Schad, born in 1964 in Pforzheim, trained as an actor at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts from 1986 to 1989. From 1989 onward, he worked at various German theaters, including Staatstheater Braunschweig, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Hamburg’s Thalia Theater and Deutsches Schauspielhaus. As an actor, he appeared in numerous film and television productions, including “Tatort,” “Stromberg,” “Bella Block,” “Die Kirche bleibt im Dorf” and “The Diary of Anne Frank.” In 2013, his portrayal of Nathan in “Nathan the Wise” at the Bad Hersfeld Festival earned him both the Großer Hersfeldpreis and the audience award. Schad also worked as a voice artist for radio, audio dramas and audiobooks. His recording of Florian Illies’s “1913” received the Ohrkanus award and the Hamburg audiobook prize “Osterwold.”
