Simone Frieling

Simone Frieling (born 1957 in Wuppertal, Germany) is a German author, painter and graphic artist. She has published novels, short stories, essays, anthologies and literary nonfiction. Her works include “Mitten im Leben,” “Im Zimmer meines Lebens,” “Ausgezeichnete Frauen. Die Nobelpreisträgerinnen für Literatur,” “Rebellinnen” and “Sophie Scholl. Aufstand des Gewissens.” In 1998, she received the Martha Saalfeld Literature Prize, also referred to in the sources as the Literary Promotion Prize of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Frieling has also created oil paintings, pastels, watercolors and graphic paper cuttings, which have been shown in numerous exhibitions.
