Simon Montefiore

Simon Montefiore, born in 1965, studied history at the University of Cambridge. He publishes nonfiction under the name Simon Sebag Montefiore and novels under the name Simon Montefiore. His best-known works include »The Romanovs«, »Jerusalem: The Biography«, »Young Stalin«, »Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar«, »Catherine the Great and Potemkin« and the novels »Sashenka«, »One Night in Winter« and »Red Sky at Noon«. His books have been translated into more than 35 languages. His lifelong interest in Russia is rooted in the history of his ancestors, who fled tsarist Russia at the beginning of the 20th century.
