Şahin Aydin (born 1968 in Kurdistan, Turkey) came to Germany with his family at the age of five and grew up in Gronau, Westphalia. His historical research focused in particular on local history and the workers’ movement. Aydin published several political biographies, including works on Rudi Johann Wilhelm Steffens, Alois Fulneczek, and Elli Domke, Carl Domke and Grete Kusber. Other publications address the graves of revolutionaries at Bottrop’s Westfriedhof cemetery and the Essen lawyer Dr Rosenberg.
