Roman Loimeier

Roman Loimeier, born in 1957 in Passau, is an ethnologist and professor of ethnology at the University of Göttingen. He is known for his work on the anthropology of Islam and the history of Muslim societies in Africa, particularly in North, West, and East Africa. His other areas of focus include the history of epidemics and disasters, political ecology, historical anthropology, and concepts of space and time.
