Reinhard Kuhnert

Reinhard Kuhnert (born 1945 in Berlin) studied at the Theaterhochschule and the Literaturinstitut in Leipzig. He worked as an actor, assistant director and director at theaters in East Germany, as well as in West Berlin and abroad. As a writer, he produced plays, radio and television texts, prose and poetry. He also worked as a dubbing and audiobook narrator. He became particularly known as the narrator of the audiobook series based on George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire,” for which he received a Goldene Schallplatte in 2017. In 1999, he was awarded the Brüder-Grimm-Preis of the State of Berlin.
