Quynh Tran, born in 1989, grew up in the Finland-Swedish town of Jakobstad. He attended the Biskops Arnö writers’ school in Sweden and is a psychologist. His debut novel, *Skugga och svalka*, received significant attention in Finland and Sweden and won the Swedish Yle Literature Prize in 2021, Finland’s Runeberg Prize in 2022, and the Borås Tidning Debutant Prize in 2022. The novel was published in German in 2024 under the title *Schatten und Wind*.
