Annekathrin Kohout (born 1989) is an author and a cultural and media scholar. She studied German studies, art studies, media theory, and photography, and received her doctorate in 2012. She served as a co-editor of the book series “Digitale Bildkulturen” and the journal “POP. Kultur und Kritik.” Her work has addressed the aesthetics and theories of pop and popular culture, social media, and contemporary art. Her publications include books on network feminism, nerds, and K-pop.
