Andreas Donat

Andreas Donat (born 1983 in Vienna) studied Scandinavian Studies at the University of Vienna and classical piano in Vienna, Berlin, and Oslo. He worked as a pianist and freelance literary translator, translating from Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and English. In 2025, he received the Förderpreis of the Kunststiftung NRW Literature Prize—the Straelener Translator Prize—for his translation of Quynh Tran’s novel “Shadow and Wind.”
