Peter Pirker, Dr. phil., is a historian and political scientist. He has worked at the universities of Vienna, Innsbruck and Klagenfurt. His research and publications focus on Nazi rule in the Alpine-Adriatic region, resistance, persecution, exile and intelligence services during the Second World War, as well as the politics of history and cultures of remembrance. His books include “Codename Brooklyn: Jewish Agents in Enemy Territory. Operation Greenup 1945” and “Snapshots of Liberation: Photographs by American Soldiers in Spring 1945”.
