Peter Bexte

Peter Bexte (born 1954) is a scholar of cultural and media studies. From 2008 to 2020, he held the chair of aesthetics at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Previously, from 2005 to 2008, he was a visiting professor of the history and theory of technical media in the European Media Studies program in Potsdam. From 1996 to 2000, he curated the central department of the Berlin Millennium Exhibition. His research focuses on the arts, media, and forms of knowledge of the seventeenth and twentieth centuries. He has also been a senior fellow at the IKKM in Weimar and the IFK in Vienna.
